The new Triad-Orbit®, Precision®, Dolby Atmos® – Immersive Sound Speaker Mount System offers many options for mounting onto walls and ceilings with Triad-Orbit Technology. This uniquely designed patent-pending speaker mounting system allows the installer to meet the critical demands of Dolby Atmos and immersive sound installations providing unparalleled flexibility in mounting and alignment options, saving time in installation and laser alignment. SM-1 systems feature multiple speaker mounting plates for different manufacturers, dual redundant locking mechanisms, 15 degree locking positions in tilt axis, and 30 degree locking positions in pan axis. Optional mounting configurations are available to accommodate wall, ceiling, long drop ceiling, pipe and truss mounting.

System Components

• SM-WM1 wall/ceiling mount houses the SM-SW1 swivel. The SM-SW1 slides into the SM-WM1 mount and secures by 4 hex screws. This allows the speaker to be attached to the swivel first and then sliding the assembly in the SM-WM1 mounting plate.
• SM-SW1 swivel can accommodate the various speaker mounting plates or can connect directly to speakers that have a dual hole pattern (50mm-80mm).

Speaker Brackets

• SM-705B and SM-708B (JBL 705p/708p speakers) have five possible mounting points to allow for optimal positioning. Refer to the provided instructions for mounting options.

Mounting Plates

• SM-FP Focal speaker plate is T shaped to allow the SM-SW1 to avoid the speaker’s I/O, switches and knobs. It has 2 slots for Focal two hole speakers that range from 30mm to 110mm. It also has 4 SM-SW1 M8 holes. This allows both vertical and horizontal orientation when attaching to the SM-SW1 swivel.

• SM-7iP (non-powered JBL 705/708 installer series) speaker plate has four (4) 50mm holes and four (4) 80mm slots for ease of mounting. This allows both vertical and horizontal orientation when attaching to the SM-SW1 swivel.
• SM-GP (General) speaker plate has four (4) holes spaced 127mm X 70mm to accommodate Genelec One series speakers and (4) holes spaced 108mm X 51mm for smaller Genelec speakers. Note: Many Genelec and other speakers may connect directly to the SM-SW1 using the 50mm-108mm slotted holes.
  SM-GP’s holes also accommodate ATC SCM12i Pro and Meyer Sound Ultra X10 and 20.and the Meyer Sound Ultra X series.
• SM-HMS is designed to be used with Meyer Sound HMS series speakers. HMS 5, HMS 10, HMS 12.
• SM-PM1 pipe mounting plate is intended for use with standard 3/4” NTS pipe thread for long drop hanging or extending off of walls.
  

SM-1 System Consists of The SM-WM Wall Plate, the SM-SW-1 Locking Swivel and the Associated Speaker Plates or Brackets.

Ease of Set Up

Once the SM-WM1 is mounted, the complete speaker assembly slides directly into the SM-WM1 and is locked in place with 4 provided hex screws. The SM-SW1 is the main pan and tilt swivel for the SM-1 System. The SM-SW1 controls are redundant with both a locking spring pin and tension knobs. The holes are set in 15 degree increments. To adjust them, first loosen the tension knob and then pull the spring pin out. While pulling it out, turn the spring pin 90º and release it.  It will stay locked out in this position. Then turn it 90º again and the spring pin will find and lock in your desired position.
The pan knob is on a spring. Turn as far as the placement allows, then pull up and reset the handle position to turn it again. 

Tilt adjustments

To move the swivel to the desired tilt position, first loosen the tension knob and then pull the spring pin out. While pulling it out, turn the spring pin 90º and release it.  It will stay locked out in this position. Then turn it 90º again and the spring pin will find and lock in your desired position. Then re-tighten the tension knob.
