John Lennon Bus
The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus is a state-of-the-art mobile production facility featuring recording, mixing, music production, and video post-production studios. Operating across the United States and Europe, the Lennon Bus provides free events, workshops, interactive experiences, and hands-on opportunities that empower young people to create audio, video, and digital media projects.
When profiled by Mix magazine's Clive Young, following the installation of the Bus's Dolby Atmos mixing environment, CTO Jeff Sobel highlighted Triad-Orbit's role in creating a monitoring system that could be quickly deployed, accurately positioned, and consistently replicated as the Bus traveled from location to location.
“The 5.1 setup that we started from was permanently affixed—we don’t take those speakers down for travel—but the Atmos height speakers detach. Our partner for that is Triad-Orbit, which makes great quick-release mounts that are also very sturdy; we installed their mounts in key positions, and the corresponding mounts are on the backs of the Genelec height monitors, so we can pop them into the mounts affixed to the ceiling. Our side-surrounds go on Triad-Orbit stands that we can set up by line of sight, which is a setting we developed when Bryan Pennington [Dolby senior field applications engineer] tuned the system. He confirmed the exact positioning and orientation to those speakers, so we just replicate that each time we set up.”We are proud to partner with the Lennon Bus alongside Genelec, Dolby, and many other sponsors and technology partners helping support its mission of empowering the next generation of creators.
